HESSISCHE STRASSE 31, TREFFURT

One of the highlights of this half-timbered house at Hessische Straße 31 in Treffurt, Germany, is the dormer
decorated with three fan rosettes.

A dormer is an architectural structure on the eave side of a pitched roof that stands directly on the cornice or the facade wall rather than from the slope. In short, a dormer aligns with the facade wall.

Dormers are available in various roof styles, including gabled and hipped. Here, the dormer has a gable roof.

Also, the house has a mezzanine. A mezzanine is a floor level situated between two main floors.

The year '1589' is engraved above the archway, which is framed by a portal. This portal is surrounded by a wooden braided ribbon known as a dew ribbon.
