Kapellenstraße 1, Osterwieck
What makes the three-story half-timbered house at Kapellenstraße 1 in Osterwieck, Germany, unique is the
combination of the ship's throats carved far up on the thresholds and the fan rosettes.

Here, the ship's throats resemble arched segments instead of hollow grooves. Because of this, the shape of the fan rosettes is more distinctively scalloped.

The fan rosettes are placed on posts and foot bands on the second and third floors. The foot bands , which are diagonal braces, sit on thresholds and form trapezoidal sides.
The year '1537' was engraved in uppercase Roman numerals (AD MDXXXVII) on the lintel, a horizontal beam on top of a door. In this case, it is on top of a transom window.
