Marienstraße 26, Königsberg

One cannot but draw attention to the double-leaf driveway gate with a chevron pattern at Marienstraße 26, a two-story half-timbered house in Königsberg, Germany.

Chevron, a French word, often forms an inverted V-shape. In heraldry, the word is commonly used to refer to a badge or insignia.

In addition, the driveway gate has a wicket door. A wicket door is a small, narrow door built within a larger one.

The facade, on the other hand, has straight and curved struts. The curved ones, known as fire bucks, look like saltires or St. Andrew's crosses because of the X-shape. The fire bucks are decorated with noses and eyes.

Also, the year 1689 can be seen on the uppermost part of the gable wall.
